Lois Arthur Wilson

Lois is survived by her daughter, Victoria Wenick, son-in-law, Ed Wenick, and granddaughters Abbie and Kiera Wenick of Seattle, WA. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Wilson; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Owen; mother, Eva Arthur; and sister, Peggy Divita.

Lois was born on December 2, 1940 in Altavista, VA to Eva Clay Arthur. She graduated from Altavista High School in 1959 and received a Certificate from Phillips Business College in Lynchburg, VA. She married James R. Owen Jr., in 1962. Together they had two children: Mary Elizabeth and Victoria Ann. After moving to Greeneville, TN in 1970 she began a long career at Greene County Bank, then moved to Sevierville, TN in 1988 where she worked for Earl R. Whaley & Company until she retired. She married the love of her life, Bill Wilson, in September 2002 at Eusebia Presbyterian Church in Seymour, TN. In 2016 she moved to Seattle, WA to be closer to her daughter who was her faithful caregiver.

All who knew Lois would testify she was a loyal friend whose heart spoke true. She was a loving mother, daughter, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother as well as a devoted Christian. Her southern charm was contagious to everyone she met. She loved spending time in the kitchen and creating delicious meals for her family. The simplest pleasures in life brought her great joy. She loved a quiet evening with friends or family and a glass of wine in hand. She often traveled and explored the country. She survived cancer and other life threatening diseases, but unfortunately was diagnosed with dementia 10 years ago. She always faced life’s challenges with courage and a smile.

A virtual memorial will be scheduled at a future date.
