Linda was born January 20, 1944 in Bremerton, Washington, and passed away late in the evening of May 18, 2021, at UWMC-Northwest, following a long battle with heart disease. She was 77 years old. Linda was preceded in death by her mother and father (Marjie and Bev Boatman), grandparents, first cousins Randall and Richard, and her beloved son Kent, who died tragically in 2011 at the age of 43.
Linda lived and worked most of her life in the Seattle area. She attended McDonald Elementary, John Marshall Junior High, and was a member of the first graduating class of Ingraham High School in 1962. After leaving school, Linda worked in retail sales and quality control at Philips Electronics. She managed a home business for several years designing and manufacturing tote bags sold at local area department stores, and later completed certifications in both real estate and hair design.
During her life, Linda enjoyed playing tennis, water and downhill skiing, gardening, watching T.V. soap operas, playing board and card games, traveling to new places, collecting ceramic figurines, and socializing with family and friends. She was a great cook and loved to create new recipes. Linda shared her mother’s love of art, and was accomplished in both oil and water color painting. She was fun loving, generous, empathetic and always tried to help people and animals in need. Linda’s life choices were guided by her Christian faith and values she learned growing up in Seattle’s University District neighborhood in the 1950’s.
Linda loved to take risks, and could truly say about her life “I did it my way”. She is survived by her son Todd, daughter Lisa, grandsons Henry and Tristan, granddaughters Ripley and Sydney, sister Sue, brother Steve, aunt Barbara, and first cousins Donn, Roxanne and Wayne. Linda will be interred at Evergreen Washelli Cemetery in Seattle.
Safe travels dear Linda. You will be remembered always with great love and affection by your family and friends.
