Lifelong Seattle area resident, Janet Kathleen (Taber) Palmer passed away on September 16, 2022 in Silverdale, WA with family at her side. Janet was born August 15, 1944 in Seattle to Melva G. (Black) and Earl P. Taber.
Janet was proud to have spent her childhood in West Seattle, graduating from West Seattle High School in 1962. She attended West Side Presbyterian Church. She met Warren, the love of her life, in June 1963 and they married at The Hitching Post (also called Lakeside Chapel) in Coeur D’Alene, ID on August 1, 1964. Early in their marriage, Janet and Warren enjoyed traveling on their motorcycle with the Honda Sportsmen Motorcycle Club. Janet and Warren made their first home in Lake City and then settled in Lynnwood, WA for more than 30 years where they raised their children Gregory and Erin. Janet worked in the mortgage industry for over 25 years with Seattle Mortgage Company and retired as a senior underwriter from Bank of America after an acquisition. Janet was a longtime active member of the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women and served as treasurer for the Mortgage Industry Foundation. Janet and Warren relocated to the Silverdale area of Kitsap County, WA in 2001. Janet was active in numerous community organizations, serving as treasurer of the local TOPS chapter. She supported the Silverdale YMCA where she participated in the water exercise classes. Janet enjoyed attending a great many folk and country music concerts and bluegrass festivals with Warren. They enjoyed lake fishing together and traveling throughout the Pacific Northwest and especially the Oregon Coast and the Idaho Panhandle. Janet loved spending time with family and found great joy in her 3 grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren.
Janet is survived by her loving husband Warren G. Palmer, her children Gregory W. Palmer (Gretchen) of Shoreline, WA and Erin K. Davison (Steven) of Bremerton, WA; her grandchildren Emily Patti (Joseph) of Rathdrum, ID, Kyle Davison of Bremerton, WA, and Katherine Davison of Port Orchard, WA; her 4 great-grandchildren Stephen, Philip, David, and baby Elisabeth Kathleen all of Rathdrum, ID; her sisters Yvonne Nelson and family of Missoula, MT and Sherrie Holliday (Bruce) and family of Beaverton, OR.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents Melva and Earl Taber, her brother William Taber and brother-in-law Conny Nelson.
Per Janet’s wishes, a simple graveside service will be held on October 14, 12:00 Noon at Acacia Memorial Park and Funeral Home just north of Lake City.
