Jim passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, at the age of 96. Jim is remembered for being an influential teacher, loving husband, wonderful father, and grandfather.
He taught history for many years in Bellevue School District at Sammamish High School and Interlake High. He was a supportive teacher with high expectations for every student caring about them and their success. We are proud that he inspired so many with his passion for teaching, many who have acknowledged his lifelong impact on them. Some may remember Mr. Morgan for his wild ties, one of the many ways he tried to get student’s attention!
Jim was a very caring, unassuming, faithful person who mentored many, gave of his time volunteering throughout his life including as child advocate to courts and St. Vincent de Paul. Jim and Rose were world travelers, traveling to every continent except Antarctica. They spent retirement between homes in Bellevue and Whidbey Island. He earned a purple heart as an army veteran of WWII and was member of the American Legion.
Maurice, as he was called by his family was preceded by the passing of his wife Rose after 67 years of marriage. Daughters Marcia LeVeque (Scott), Michelle Robinson (Bill) and grandchildren Kristi, Julie, and Karl.
There will be a private service per Jim’s wishes.
