George Tom Stamolis, passed away, December 16, 2024, in Everett Washington. He was born on March 9th, 1934, in Seattle Washington to Tom and Mary Stamolis. George is the oldest of three children, followed by his sister Gloria and brother, Sylvan. He grew up surrounded by many aunts, uncles and cousins that formed a large extended family, who spent holidays, vacations, weekends and in many cases working together. George and his family were all active and mainstays in the Greek community, Greek being the first language he spoke.
George spent his formative years living on Queen Anne Hill, where he proudly attended Queen Anne High School. He then spent time at the University of Washington, followed by serving his country in the US Coast Guard, during the Korean War.
George was a lifelong entrepreneur owning and running his own businesses. Majority of his career as proprietor of a long haul trucking and brokering company. He built a strong business reputation as a man of integrity, hard work, a man of his word and committed to his customers and his trade.
George was a generous man with his time, love and support. His love for his family, extended family and friends knew no bounds. He had a wonderful smile that lit up his face and the room. He loved to laugh, tell jokes and was a notorious prankster. If he teased you, it meant he liked you. His homes were always open to family and friends for a visit, a stay, or a meal. He liked to cook and loved to eat, desserts having a special spot in the process. George will be missed, but never forgotten. He left a lasting mark and impression on those who had entered his life. The last ten years he resided in Mill Creek Washington, continuing to make us laugh and sharing his love with all.
George was predeceased by a daughter, Gloria, in 2017. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Zoe, son Tom (Kathy), daughter Denise (Elaine), sister Gloria, brother Sylvan (Litsa). Grandchildren, who he loved dearly Lindsey, Randy, Kayla (Gloria), Tayler (Denise), Nick, Zach and Sam (Tom), numerous, nieces, nephews, godchildren and cousins and friends.
His service is to be conducted at St Demetrios Church at 11:30am PST, followed by a graveside service at Washelli cemetery at 2:00pm PST on Saturday, December 21st, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Providence/Swedish Health Cancer Research Program.
