He served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953, rising to the rank of Corporal. He served with the 2nd Armored Division (“Hell on Wheels”) a division of the United States Army. (He was very proud of his role in the Army) This division played important roles during World War II in the invasion of Germany.
He worked at Constructors Pemco for over 40 years. Married to Shirley, he lived all his life in the Seattle area. He loved hunting, fishing, and golfing.
He is survived by his four children, Sherry Noyes (George), Sue Christopherson (Dave), Jeanine Dyrdahl (Chris) and James Stegriy. His brother, Michael Stegriy (Betty), and Grandchildren, Jennifer Adams, Eli Griffin (Chrissy), Jim Dyrdahl (Sara), Shannon Seldal (Eric), Sarah Person (Shelton) and many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
