Edward C. Kopp, was born July 29, 1921 in Mandan, North Dakota, and passed away on February 7, 2012 after a short illness. Ed served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He married Minnie Zueger in June of 1947. They along with their three oldest children moved to Seattle in 1951, where he resided most of the rest of his life. After he and his family moved here in 1957, they had three more children. Ed's main occupation was as an automobile mechanic .Ed owned and operated an automotive repair shop in White Center for a number of years. Other places of employment included, Sea-Tac Ford, Peterbilt, and Hulin Transfer, just to mention a few. He was an active member of the Machinist Union as well as a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Parrish.
Ed is preceded in death, by his son Dale and wife Minnie, and brothers Peter and John. He is survived by three sons, Jerry, Jim and Phil and two daughters Judy and Sandy. Ed is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, three sisters and a brother.
Services are to include a Rosary on Thursday February 9, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. with viewing from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. prior at Yarington's Funeral Home located at 10708 16th Avenue SW in Seattle, WA. There will be a funeral mass at Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday at 11:00 a.m. located at 9622 20th Ave. SW Seattle, WA with graveside services at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery located at 37600 Pacific Highway S. Federal Way, WA. There will be a celebration of his life at the White Center Eagles from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Ed has requested that any monetary donations be in his name to the American Cancer Society.
