Charlotte Ann Tindall (Campbell), affectionately known as “Annie,” was born on March 14th, 1947, in Great Falls, Montana, to John and Helen (Noel) Campbell. She was known for her love of animals, passion for service, and irreverent sense of humor.
Raised on the family ranch near Utica alongside her siblings Vera, Myron, Stan, and Chuck, Charlotte embraced the simple life and formed lifelong friendships with her classmates. It was here that she met her husband and the love of her life, Guy Tindall, while he was working on the road by the ranch. He fondly remembers her instigating a water fight with him in her family's kitchen. The two were married in Lewistown, Montana, on May 29th, 1965, under a crabapple tree in Guy’s parent's yard. They later relocated the tree to their yard so they could see their bridal bouquet when they looked out the window.
Charlotte enjoyed hobbies such as playing softball and volleyball with friends, event planning for her church, and making cakes for friend's and family’s life events. She is fondly remembered for her ability to make people laugh with her candid expressions and her preference for shock value over mundane conversation. True to her compassionate nature, Charlotte proudly served as an EMT for the Lewistown ambulance for over ten years and regularly volunteered at the local hospital. Her deep love and affection for animals led her to welcome a variety of pets into her heart and home throughout her life, such as (but certainly not limited to) cats, dogs, horses, a goat, birds, and even a raccoon. When she and her husband welcomed children Shauna, Shyla, Shayli, and Rob, Charlotte devoted herself to motherhood. Known for the handmade dresses and other clothes she made for her children, being involved in her children’s lives was her passion. She served as a troop leader for her daughter’s Brownies troop, a den mother for her son’s Boy Scout troop, and was a Sunday School teacher at church. Despite their busy schedules, she and Guy were still able to make time for themselves. As members of a local motorcycle club in town, Charlotte was known as “the only person who could fall asleep on the back of a bike.” Later, following the sale of their cement plant, she and her husband opened a video store called Family Video that would serve their community for the next ten years.
Many grandchildren blessed her as her children went on to have their own children. The two eventually made their way to the Seattle area, where most of their children also lived. Charlotte played an active role in the lives of her grandkids. She enacted a memorable tradition of “post-birthday presents” to prolong the joy of their birthdays. Her love language was one of practical jokes and unconventional humor. Her days became filled with her grandchildren's laughter, boating around Puget Sound with her family, and adventuring through the Seattle area's many gardens and plant nurseries. She quickly threw herself back into community service as a volunteer for Providence Hospital and the Marysville police department. Charlotte never met a stranger; her children and grandchildren often heard stories from their friends about chance encounters with her at the mall, her beloved cat, dog, and Guy always in tow.
As a Christian, she found joy in her strengthened relationship with God. She attended church regularly throughout her life with her children and grandchildren. While Charlotte will undoubtedly be missed, she lives on through the stories and memories shared by her extensive list of family and friends.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen, and her brothers, Stan and Chuck.
