Born in Everett to Reynold (Reggie) Moline and Faye Cowden Moline, Bonnie Jean spent her early years “riding the rails” with her Engineer father from Everett to Startup to visit her Grandma and to Skykomish to visit her brother, George.
She graduated from Queen Anne High School, class of 1940 ½. It was an unusual time. In her first job out of school, she worked as a comptometer operator, a position she held until she married. Bonnie had a special relationship with 12 elementary school chums. They met monthly from the 1930’s until they were all well into their 80’s (2005). They lived through wars, birth, death, marriage, divorces and
7+ decades of fun and memories.
Bonnie was married in 1945 and started her family of 6 boys, all one year apart, which kept her hands full.
Bonnie enjoyed flowers. She worked at the Brown Bulb Ranch for 30 + years. Her fellow workers deemed her workspace, Bonnie’s Bungalow.
The focus of her life was her boys, family, friends and neighbors.
She enjoyed traveling, bowling, playing cards and always had a poodle.
Bonnie is survived by her sons, George (Kathy), Ray (Janine), Lyn (Anna); daughter in law, Claire and son in law, John Lyon. She is preceded in death by sons, Gary, Darrell and Bruce, as well as daughter in law, Sandy. Bonnie leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews along with other extended family members.
Special thanks to Mike and Diane Adams for being such wonderful neighbors to Bonnie.
The family is planning a celebration of Bonnie’s life, when possible, at the river in Darrington.
Remembrances, in her honor, may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, 911 W 5th Ave, Spokane WA 99204
