Seaside -James White Sr., 90, was born in Dallas, TX, on July 7, 1921, to Willie and Mary White. Mr. White served his country in World War II and the Korean War and retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service. Mr. White decided to make Seaside, CA, his hometown while stationed at Fort Ord, CA in 1955. Mr. White worked for MPUSD for 15 years and retired in 1986. He loved his family, fishing and baseball.
James is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nora L. White; his 4 children: James White Jr. (JoAnn), and Arthur Lee White, of Seaside, CA , Victoria Markham and Kimberly White of Salinas, CA. He is also survived by his brothers: Joseph, J.W., Billy J., and Donald R. White, and a sister, Barbara Scott, all of Dallas, TX; his grandchildren: Nicole, Taviyen, Tamiko, Tiffany, Clarence, Raquel, Jamesa, J’na, Cydney, and Franklin; his 10 great grandchildren: Darius, Ahnjalique, Dominique, Marcus, Kordell, Aleah, Kenyatta, Richard, Michael, and Kyren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Arina Ganeles and the staff at Carmel Hills Care Center for their care and attention.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at Bayside Community Mortuary, 1610 Noche Buena St, Seaside, CA, from 4:00 until 8:00pm. Funeral Services will also be at Bayside Community Mortuary on November 10, 2011, followed by the interment at Mission Memorial Park, Seaside, with military honors.
