Sammie D Wise

SAMMIE DOYLE WISE, M/SGT (Ret), USAF, age 86, was born April 9, 1928, in Waurika, OK to Sam and Mary Wise, passed away on November 3, 2014, in Conway, AR. Sammie attended school in Oklahoma, and served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. He especially enjoyed his work as an aircraft maintenance supervisor, with the U-2 Spy Plane Wing, Strategic Air Command. He had a second career as Automotive Maintenance Supervisor, with the Dallas District, Texas Highway Department. After retirement, he did volunteer work with his church, First Baptist, Seagoville, and the U. S. Forrest Service. He is survived by his wife of 64 years , Dava Dean (Read) Wise, four children son Stephen Wise (Renae), of Geneva, AL; daughter, Roxana (Wise) Worley of Conway, AR; daughter, Ronnie (Wise) Cardenas (Joe), son Roger Wise (Holly); and 11 grandchildren, Brad Wise (Marsha); Christopher Wise; Angela Cate (Todd); Brandon Wise, Aaron Worley, Casey Wise, Natalie Cardenas, Gabriel Cardenas, Mercedes Cardenas, Cooper Wise, Trevor Wise, and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Bettie Landers of Muskogee, OK and Mary Daniel of Victorville, CA. He is predeceased by his parents, brother John Wise and sisters, Jean Martin, Ruby Wise, Elizabeth Wise, and Ruth Leach. Sammie enjoyed his family and his church. He loved travel, RV’ing, country living, and always enjoyed a friendly game of dominoes or bridge. His friends and family enjoyed his dry wit and sense of humor. He will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him. Services will be at Roselawn Funeral Chapel in Seagoville, TX , Thursday, Nov 6, 2014. Visitation is at 1:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in D/FW National Cemetery at Grand Prairie, TX at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Nov 7, 2014.
