Paul B. Phillips (06-19-32 ~ 03-05-17) …. The genuine article. A true gentleman. Kind. Compassionate and sensitive (not ashamed to shed tears). Honest. Witty (I forgot to remember! I’m in pretty good shape for the shape I’m in! She’s busier than a one-armed paper hanger blowin’ in a windstorm! Let’s give it a whirl!). Hard worker (Proud member of the Plumbers Pipefitters Union for 67 years. Free advice: Don’t put ANYthing down the disposal!). Charismatic (1949 Ysleta High School “Junior Favorite” and “Most Handsome Boy”). Lover of baseball (the game itself – no particular team), ice cream (Blue Bell Peppermint), and bluebonnets. Creature of habit (Chapstick, bandanna handkerchief, fingernail clippers, and a silver dollar always in his pocket, and a cap on his head). Tour guide extraordinaire (Blueberry Hill, Insider Tour of Hoover Dam, Black Bear Diner, Lindo Michoacán, The Bellagio, homes of the rich and famous). Adventurous (frog gigger, hunter and fisherman, proud supporter of our National Parks). Father, grandfather (Grandpa Las Vegas!), great-grandfather, and friend (Mr. Sir! Yellow Pages! Paul B!). Paul was a lover, special and unique, and will be dearly missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his name to the National Park Foundation, www.nationalparks.org.
