. Jerry Cruz Garcia, 39, passed away at his home on April 27, 2016. He was born on October 6, 1976 to Arthur Garcia and Dolores Martinez in El Paso, TX. Jerry lived in Port Isabel, TX until the age of 12 when he and his family moved to Garland, TX. A Christian by faith, Jerry was a charming and outgoing man. He had the “gift of gab” and it was often said that he could sell ice to Eskimos. He loved football, especially the Dallas Cowboys, fishing, guns, hunting and good food. He loved to play pranks on his friends and family and to play computer games. Jerry was a graduate of ITT Technical Institute and was employed as a computer engineer for Atmos Energy. Most of all, Jerry loved his family, especially his son, Shiloh and together they were an awesome team. Preceding him in death are his grandfather Cruz Martinez, grandfather Raymond Garcia, uncle Frankie Martinez, aunt Margie Martinez, and great-grandmother-in-law, Freida Sexton. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 17 years, Andrea Garcia; son Shiloh Moses Garcia; step-son Daniel Seth Davis; mother Dolores Martinez; father Arthur Garcia and wife, Helen; brother Billy Garcia and wife, Jennifer; step-sister Heidi Carrillo; step-brother Roger Shaffer; grandmother Libby Martinez; grandmother Carmen Garcia; nephew Johnathan Garcia; niece Rachael Garcia; mother-in-law Linda Sanchez and husband, Lupe and a host of extended family and friends that will miss him dearly.
