Jerry was born August 10, 1956, in Odessa, Texas to Betty Jo (Nevil) and J.W. Bearden Jr. The family then traveled back to their home in Seagoville, TX where Jerry would spend the majority of his life.
He graduated from Seagoville High School and then went on to have a career in concrete construction, a job he very much enjoyed. It was in school that Jerry fell in love with sports; he played varsity baseball and football. This translated into his adult life through a love of his Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Rangers, and playing in different softball leagues for many years, including on Seagoville's "Bad Company" softball team. Jerry also had a long-time love of motorcycles, specifically Harley-Davidsons.
In 2008 Jerry married Rebecca Sterling. Jerry embraced her family and took to the role of "Grandpa Jerry" like a natural. He loved spending time with his family.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jo Bearden, and his father, J.W. Bearden Jr.
Left to cherish in his memory are his wife, Rebecca Bearden; sister, Deborah Ann Bearden; brother, Malcolm "Peanut" Bearden; his step-mom, Pat Bearden and her two sons; along with many grandkids, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many loving friends.
A visitation for Jerry will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
The family has requested donations be made in Jerry's name to a charity of your choosing. They also ask if you choose to send flowers, please send live plants over cut flowers, so Jerry's memory can continue to grow alongside them.
