Willie "Jean" Wilcox West, of Wills Point, Texas, passed away on Oct 5, 2022, in Greenville, Texas. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, friend, colleague, etc, to all that knew and loved her. She was born on December 13, 1947, in Cisco, Texas to Willie Bess Wilcox & Ovetta Inez Wood Wilcox. She was raised in Dallas, Texas, and spent most of her time there before moving to Wills Point in 2005.
Jean and her sisters spent time in The Buckner's Children's Home from 1954-1958, and she later graduated from H. Grady Spruce High School in 1966 in Dallas, Texas.
Jean married Billy Warren West of Denison, Texas on Nov 12, 1966. They settled in Dallas, Texas. They had 3 children; Billy, Mike and Dana.
Jean retired from Hartford Insurance Group in 2001 after many years with them as a Claims adjuster. She enjoyed her retirement and time with family & friends.
Jean leaves behind her son Mike West of Mesquite, Texas; daughter, Dana Wilson & son in law Bryan Wilson of Wills Point, Texas; sister, Linda Newsom and brother in law James Newsom of Mabank, Texas; step-sister, Sheran Nelson of Athens, Texas; grandsons, Jacob West, D'Javonte West, Taylon Wilson, Trenton Wilson, Sebastian West, and Damian West; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie & Ruth Wilcox and Ovetta Wood Wilcox; husband of 41 years, Billy Warren West; son, Billy Ray West; sisters, Joyce Wilcox & Willena Nelson; step-sister, Betty Nelson; step-brother, James "Bob" Nelson and other beloved relatives.
The Funeral Service will be held at 3 pm on October 11, 2022, at Roselawn Funeral Home with a reception to follow at home.
The Graveside Burial will be held at 9 am on October 12, 2022, at Dallas Ft Worth National Cemetery with a reception to follow at home.
