What a beautiful and caring human being Yvonne was!  Assistance League of Phoenix benefitted from her volunteer work and generous heart for many years.  We extend our sympathy to Yvonne's family upon the loss of their mother and our appreciation to them for suggesting that our chapter be considered as a recipient for donations in memory of Yvonne.

Oh, so sad. Yvonne was one of my first customers in the eighties. My prayers to her friends and family. She was a generous wonderful lady.

Yvonne and I were very active in AEA when we were teaching. She was Chairman of the Republican teachers' organization and I was chairman of the Democrat Teachers'. Every year when we were active we would have a meeting with our State Legislators.  In the mid 70's there was a move to do away with teacher tenure. We were all disappointed with this idea so the next meeting with our Legislators, we really lobbied against this proposal.
One key Legislator was Senator  Bob Stump who was in the Senate at that time. He was a personal friend so Yvonne and I lobbied hard to get him on our side.
When the tenure bill came up for a vote
it was defeated.. the one vote defeating this bill was Sen. Bob Stump.  Yvonne and I were so happy.  Of course teacher tenure is no longer but Yvonne and I saved our tenure for many years to come.  I was a close friend of Dr. John Carney and my husband and I were absolutely delighted they married. Yvonne was a caring person as was John.
It was a sad day when he passed and an even sadder day when Yvonne left us.  One nice memory I have of them both is when they talked about their wonderful family. I am so sorry for your loss but I know your memories will hold strong in your mind.

Yvonne and John were our neighbors on Crestwood Way. Yvonne was the first to greet us when we moved in some 15 years ago. We shared many interests in common - genealogy, computer issues, our teaching background - and help for each other was always a shout either way. 
Our most fun time was transporting loads of "stuff" to her  sometime-annual garage sale at their home in Flagstaff. Not only was the day one laugh after another as we sold the most improbable things, but then we finished the day with karaoke at the Pinetop Inn! 
Yvonne was a great person and a wonderful role model. I'm glad to have known her.

Yvonne was wonderful to me.  She introduced me to all the Lokken relatives in Phoenix.

Yvonne was always so sweet to me, my husband Brian and our 3 children.  It is a wonderful memory for us that she and Grandpa John came to our wedding 15 years ago in Sedona.  I was sorry to hear of her illness and passing.  My prayers are with her close family.

May our Heavenly Father wrap his arms around your family during your time of grief.  Psalms 46:1
