My dear Grandmother, 
I do not knwo how to fully write this but, to start, I would like to say thank you. Thank you for being such a wonderful and sweet and amazing grandmother. Thank you for always having a smile on your face and being the person I could run to, laugh with, and tell stories to forever. Thank you for being such an uplifting and happy person. I love you more than words can describe. I am feeling sad, but I feel better because even though you are not here with us anymore, we all know you are in no more pain and you are with Dada. I know you and Dada and Nanaji will watch over me and Shania and Aneesh and Keya and all of your grandchildren grow up. I now know you are in pain no more and that makes me smile. I am more than sad that your gone, but I will forever hold on to the memories with me and you.

Dearest Auntie. I have great memories of when Anurag and I were young and we would beg you to take us to Taco Bell.  Anurag still had to drink his milk.  We will miss your up-lifting spirit and kindness.  May God Bless you.  Your memory will live with us forever.  Vik/Christina/Mila Tandon

Veena ji, We all formally addressed you as Mrs. Tandon, but you showed us the most generous side of being so loving and absolutely without judgement and ego. You have always surprised us with your amazing artistry by creating Costumes, Jewelry sets, Props, Painting  and so much more for not just Ankita but all the girls at C..I.D.Y. and Nadanta. You have shared so much valuable attributes that we wish  not to  cherish only but share the same way to others.

Although I miss my grandmother more than anything in this world, I know she lived such an amazing life. Although I was only able to spend 13 years with her I appreciate every moment we had, I love you so much I am glad you are now with my grandfather and can now be at piece. Rest in power and piece.

I remember spending time with aunty long ago . She was a very kind and friendly person, always smiling and enthusiastic about the life.

After sudden death of Phupha ji, Bua ji along with Veena and Vijay came to live with us.  Veena was 3 year old and Vijay was 1 year old. The three of them became part of our family and no longer relatives.

We used to play hide & seek where she would usually be the last one to be found.

Veena did BA in sanskrit and double MA.  She was pro-efficient in dance, music and painting.  I have couple of her paintings hanging in our house today.  After her marriage she came to us in UK before going on to Detroit, USA.

Veena along with her family visited us and we reciprocated.

Covid kept us physically apart but we maintained telephone and video communication which I will not forget.  I am going to miss her.

I met Veena for the first time in the year 1965. She is the first cousin of my wife Swarn. Oh, she was a very simple, loving, and caring young girl. She had a passion for painting and great love for nature (Prakriti). She presented me with an oil painting, theme - Forest, still decorating my house. No doubt she had 'green thumb'
She got married in 1974 and left for Detroit, USA. I cannot forget how happy she was on our visit to her place in 1975.
Alas, steel-bound are the laws of this Earth. As it has been said In 
'Gita' she has only changed her body which is the chrysalis of soul and has gone from manifest to unmanifest and has taken refuge in God.
The soul is immortal and Death is not only a gate of immortality but immortality is self-assured by death.
She has left this mortal world yet her presence can always be felt.
Veena, all family members deeply loved you and shall cherish the sweet memories they shared with you.

My Buaji and their two children, Veena Bahenji and Vijay Bhaishab were always a very integral part of our family. Every year, they would visit us during summer break. Those are some of the most joyful memories I have of spending time with them.

Veena Bahenji would shower me with love and affection. She would always explain the details of music, painting and poetry with great patience. 

In addition, I did my 8th class from Lakhimpur Kheri from the school where Buaji was the Principal. She was strict in school, and even more for me. Whenever Buaji would scold me, I would go running to Veena Bahenji for support.

As I remember Bahenji today, these happy nostalgic moments come to my mind. I will always cherish these blessed memories. 

Lot of love and strength to Ankita, Anurag and families.

My favorite memory is when Ankita and I were little. We were playing outside.  Veena would need to call Ankita home and she would say “Ankitaaaaaaaaaaa”. Veena was also so good at taking care of flowers and plants. She would be outside all hours of the day in her sari watering them.

 Veena was also very hospitable and welcoming, anytime I can over. I’m sure this is where Ankita gets it from too.  Veena had so much love for her family and others. She will be surely missed by many.

I remember how she always was in charge of seemingly everything for "Nadanta's" dance productions. She alwasy very lovingly made sure that my pallu was correct when I worse a sari and that everything was in place, especially since I'm not Indian. I also remember her kindness to my own Mother and her inclusion of me and my family for her own great family events. I  remember her great love for  for  her husband and pride in her children.  Sending prayers and great love for a great lady who is greatly missed. OM Shanti....



She was always very happy to see us when we visited.  And she enjoyed all the food I made.  And we always had a close bond as parents of our kids.  I will miss her very much and all the conversations we had.

I love how ‘at home’ she made me feel when Kunjan and I would visit! She would always ask if we were hungry and make sure we were comfortable. 

Auntie- many happy memories of you when from our time in Michigan. Sleepovers and late night snacks with Anurag and you taking us to showbiz pizza when Vishal, Anurag and I would beg. God be with you. You were always so wonderful to us
