Roy Eugene Sansom, age 80, of Peoria, Arizona passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021. Roy was born May 4, 1940 in Jonesboro, Illinois.
He was raised in Arizona and graduated from Camelback High School in 1958. Roy married Shelley Geare in Phoenix on March 22, 1969. He worked for 35 years as an auto mechanic for Arizona Public Services and was a member of the NRA, Arizona State Rifle & Pistol Association, IBEW Local 387, and Masonic Lodge of Scottsdale #43. Roy had a passion for trap and skeet shooting, anything about firearms.
Roy is survived by his wife, M. Shelley Sansom; sisters-in-law, Brooke Toland and Paige Phillips; nephews, Mark Sansom, Jim Slaughter, Joe Phillips, Dr. David Toland, Jim Toland and Brent Brady; and niece, Deena Brady.
A graveside service at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery in Scottsdale will be held at a later date. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.greenacresmortuary.net for the Sansom family.
