Rosemary Jean Pomeroy, age 96, died peacefully in her sleep on September 3, 2023, following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Rosemary was born in Dixon, Illinois on August 22, 1927, and was the only daughter of Roy and Esther Conibear. She and her brother, Bruce, were reared in Lee Center, Illinois. Following her graduation from High School, she married and began a family.
In 1955, Rosemary and her family moved to Phoenix, Arizona. There, Rosemary devoted her life to the duties and challenges of being a wife, homemaker and mother to her four children (Marjorie, Michael, Mitchell and Mardi). After her children became more independent, she began a career working at various Motorola semi-conductor facilities throughout the valley. Rosemary was quickly promoted to supervisor and was a mentor to superiors and subordinates alike. Following a long and rewarding career, she retired from Motorola and moved to the Golden Keys community in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Rosemary was an avid fan of the Sun Devils football team, the Diamondbacks, the Cardinals, and the Phoenix Suns. She loved visiting The Phoenix Zoo, especially to see ZooLights during the holidays. Her retirement was punctuated by visits from her children and grandchildren and frequent trips to her beloved San Diego.
She was preceded in death by her brother, sister-in- law, and her youngest son, Mitchell. She is survived by Marjorie, Michael and Mardi, as well as her daughter-in- law, Cathy, and by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
