Rose Mary Pullen Wassom

Rose Mary Wassom, 87 of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away March 4, 2011. She was born July 31, 1923 at Momouth, Illinois, the daughter of Elbert and Holly (need Stull) Pullen. She married Doug Wassom of Stronghurst, Illinois in November of 1941. They moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1955, where Rose Mary worked for many years at Hale's Beauty Shop. She taught cosmotology before returning to school to earn her nursing degree. She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix for many years until her retirement. She will be remembered for her many kindnesses to family, friends and animals. Her church was the anchor of her life. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Dot Pullen, neices and nephews, Charlane DeRiemeir, Cheryl Bond, John and Dalton Young. Special thanks to Dr. Wendt of Hospice of the Valley, and to Pastor Mel. Visitation 1:30 - 2:30 PM, Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, Arizona 85257, whre services will be held at 2:30 PM.
