He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on December 26, 1967 to William J. and Catherine F. Walsh.
Mike attended St. Bernard’s grade school where he was a member of the Boy Scouts.
He was a member of the hockey team, and the AV/TV and Stage Crews while he was at Seton LaSalle High School. He graduated from there in 1986.
He received an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Architecture and Computer Science from Pittsburgh Technical Institute in 1989.
He began his career with the M.K. Ferguson Co. in Cleveland, OH in 1989 and thereafter worked for 30 years for various companies in the Scottsdale/Phoenix, Arizona and Santa Clara, California areas as a computer aided design (CAD), drafting and engineering specialist in the semiconductor and industrial petro-chemical fields.
Mike was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, particularly the Steelers and Penguins. He played golf and went camping and fishing as often as he could.
He is survived by his partner Trista Diamond, his brother Patrick Walsh and his sister Sarah (Sally) Walsh, as well as his close companion Sidney, his many cousins, and his friends and associates in the Phoenix and Pittsburgh areas.
Visitation will be from 2-5PM at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery, 401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85257, on Friday, March 17, followed by a memorial service from 5-6PM.
There will be an additional memorial service in Pittsburgh, PA. The family will communicate the time and place of this service at a later date.
