Judith Lovins, 92, of Phoenix, left this earthly realm peacefully on Monday, October 1, 2024. Judy was born in Hartford, Connecticut on October 21, 1931, to Daniel Horowitz and Molly Libman, three years after her sister, Roan, who predeceased her. Growing up, Judy loved going to the shore with her family. She earned her BA in Journalism from Boston University and worked as an advertising copywriter, a job that honored her gift of writing. She went on to become a professional insurance administrator for most of her working life. Judy was an active member of her community, leading a Brownie troop, serving on various boards, giving tours, adjudicating plays and facilitating a book discussion group. She sang in the Arizona Masterworks Chorale and was a vital member of The Friends of Channel 8 (PBS) for over 15 years. In her 70s, she achieved her lifelong goal of publishing a book. Judy was married to the love of her life, Richard, for 65 years until his passing in 2023. She is survived by her son Michael (ex-wife Penney), daughter Sue Eick (Brian), and grandchildren Pandah, Freyja, Annie and Leah. A funeral service will be held Monday, October 7 at 11 a.m. at Green Acres Mortuary in Scottsdale.
