He was born at South Nassau Community Hospital in Rockville Centre, New York on August 1, 1949.
In 1971, Charles graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He received an additional Bachelors degree in Accounting from Hofstra University in New York.
In 1976 he received his Certified Public Accountants certification and remained an accountant that still met with his clients.
In 1967, Charles and Janet Rosner began dating. They were married on March 18, 1973, and recently celebrated their 50th year wedding anniversary.
In 1976, Charles and Janet chose to leave New York and move to Arizona. They had no jobs, no home or family in Arizona, but felt it was a great opportunity to explore and open new doors as a young married couple. The doors opened, they both found jobs, made lots of friends, bought a home together and raised three incredible sons, Seth, Aaron and Ethan.
Charles is survived by his son Seth, Seth’s wife Diane and their sons Cameron and Brandon. In addition, his son Aaron, Aaron’s wife Christy and their daughter Holly. His third son Ethan and Ethan’s companion, Amanda Brooks.
Charlie had a passion for helping others. His three sons were blessed to have a father who coached and mentored their baseball and soccer teams.
Charlie loved inspiring and educating children to develop the skills, knowledge and responsibilities in becoming soccer referees. He developed workshops and training programs for the Arcadia Soccer League.
Charlie was an animal advocate. He volunteered for many years in encouraging people to adopt animals. To this date he had himself adopted and raised 14 rescue dogs. He was always thinking about adopting more.
Many years ago, Charlie became a part of the Foster Care Review Board. He would meet with Social Workers, Foster Care advocates, counselors and assist in reviewing current cases of children and parents within the foster care system. He wanted to make a difference in the lives of those children and their support systems.
Charlie was an art advocate and loved attending concerts as well as art exhibitions. He had an extensive Kachina and Native American pottery collections.
Additional survivors include his extended family: his brother Fred Blum and his wife Cheryl Blum, Barbara Mallick, Nick Mallick, Bruce Mallick and his wife Linda, Laurie Fitz, David Rosner and his wife Sue, Kenny Rosner and his wife Gerrie.
A celebration of life for Charles will be held Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85257, with a reception to follow.
