Frances Effie Steinmetz

Frances Effie Steinmetz, 63, of Mitchell Nebraska. It is with deep sadness to announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved Fran on December 1, 2024. Fran was a truly loving and kind hearted, gentle soul who shared her life with her loving partner, Rick of 20 years, along with her treasured fur babies Daisy, their bloodhound, and Beebop, their cat.

Fran did not know a stranger and would give you the shirt off her back. She had an infectious smile and an ornery personality. One of her favorite things to do was to watch the Cornhuskers with her baby brother Jeff, who lives in Ohio; they would text back-and-forth during the game discussing with each other what was going on and who was doing what.

Fran didn't always have an easy life but her last years, with her loving partner were the best, and she was very very happy. Fran was deeply loved and will be greatly missed beyond measure.

Fran is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Kerr Kanniard and Alice Faye (Schuster) Kanniard, brothers Ken (Sherry) Kanniard, Robert (Vickie) Kanniard, sisters Donna Landon and Diane Kanniard, 2 nephews Justin and Robert Kanniard and fur babies Annie, Mae, and Missy. Left behind to cherish her memory is her lifelong love and partner Rick Murrell of Mitchell Nebraska, her beloved daughter April Stibal of Fairmount ND, her son John Stibal of Lidgerwood ND, her grandchildren, Autymn, Hunter, Jasper, Mavis, and Alexis, her brothers and sisters, and Rick's family Betty, Laura, Brittany (Mandy), and Kaitlin (Malachi, Kyleigh), and her beloved dog Daisy and her cat Beebop.

Fran is survived by her brothers, Robert Kerr (Heidi) Kanniard, Jeffery (Marielaina) Kanniard, James Kanniard, sisters Debbie (Gregg) Spicer, Sue (Martin) Mckinniss, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and outlaws and many many friends.
