A Celebration of Life service will be held July 1, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Wyandotte County Lake, Shelter 5 in Kansas City, Kansas. At his request, cremation has taken place. A memorial has been established to the Festival of Hope in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Fond memories and condolences may be left at www.dugankramer.com. David was born on July 1, 1949 in Kansas City, Kansas to Donald and Eileen Nichols and received his early education in Kansas City, Kansas, graduating from Wyandotte high school in 1967.
David married Susan Davidson on June 30, 1978 in Kansas City, Kansas. They made their home in Kansas City, Missouri and Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
David served his country in the United States Navy, where he was a boxer. Many friends met David through the automotive industry.
David was an avid bowler, fisherman, Chiefs, Jayhawks and Royals fan.
He loved his wife and kids, especially his eight grandchildren and his nieces and nephews. He loved his family more that they will ever know. He always looked forward seeing his kids and grandkids.
Survivors include his wife Susan; sons Donald (Jenny), Austin (Erin), Aaron (Lori) and niece/daughter Sheralyn (Tim) Berry and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Patricia Morris and brother Alan Nichols.
