Betty Lou Robinson, age 79, of Scottsbluff, NE, died on August 29, 2022 at her home. Visitation will be on Friday, September 2, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel. The funeral will be Saturday, September 3, at 10:00 a.m. at New Beginnings Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Cliff Transmeier officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Betty was born in Scottsbluff, NE April 22nd 1943 to Jake and Pauline Bauer. She received her education attending schools in Scottsbluff and Kimball County. The Bauer family relocated to Kimball, Ne in 1955. Betty married Neil Robinson, of Wessington Springs South Dakota, on December 15, 1958 and to this union four children were born: Vira, Merna, Edward, and Jason. Betty and Neil were married 58 years. In 1966 Betty and her children relocated to the island of Malta to be with Neil, who was employed in Libya and Saudi Arabia for Santa Fe Drilling. In 1969 they returned to Scottsbluff, NE. Betty was employed as the head evening cook at Nebraska Western College. She also helped with the family business of Commercial Honey, Seasonal Christmas Trees, and the Robinson Tree Farm of Mitchell Ne. She was a loving mother of four children who also loved taking care of 25 foster children. Betty enjoyed watching her family participate in sporting events, solving circle word puzzles, and she was an avid fan of country music and enjoyed watching performances.
Betty was survived by children: Vira (Alejandro) Leal, Merna Calderon, and Edward (Mary) Robinson; seven grandchildren: Amanda Cyr (Jesse Dean), Octavio Calderon, Billy Calderon, Jacob Robinson, Ashley (Josh) Stigge, Mathew Robinson, and Zachary Robinson; eleven great-grandchildren: Adrian Leonhardt, Kaleb Leonhardt, Natasha Cyr, Jayden Cyr, Jesse Dean, Jr., Michaela Calderon, Evelyn Stigge; Eleanor Stigge, Aria Dean, Jaxon Dean; Daisy Robinson; sister Wilma Britton; nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, spouse Neil Robinson, son Jason Robinson, granddaughter Alejandra Leal, four brothers, and one sister.
