Maria Veiga Martins

Born in Cabo Verde, she came to the US in 1977 to live the remainder of her life in Scituate, MA. Maria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She worked for many years at Cardigan Nursing Home in Scituate as a CNA. After retirement, she helped her daughter Maria run Maria’s Convenient Express in Weymouth, MA. Maria was always a loving presence in everyone’s life with her family and friends meaning the world to her. She would express her love with a home cooked meal as soon as you walked through her door.

Maria is survived by her daughter Maria J. Martins of Pembroke, MA and husband Karl Heine; granddaughter Ashley Mahan of Braintree, MA, husband John Mahan, great granddaughter Olivia Mahan and daughter-in-law Huong Thach. She is also survived by siblings Gregory Veiga, Maria Goncalo, Calucha Veiga Campbell, Isabel Timas, Margarida Alves, Antonio Andrade, Telo Fernandes, Antonio Fernandes along with many loving nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Caetano Martins, son Francisco Martins and grandson Nicolas Nguyen Martins as well as siblings Eurides Fontes, Marcelino Veiga and Maria Gomes Martins.
