Kevin Lake

Kevin was born on May 18th, 1937 in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. After graduating high school, Kevin enlisted in the United States Army and then went on to serve in the Army Reserves. Kevin retired from a more than 30 years-long career with the Telephone Company in Boston, Massachusetts.

Kevin was married to Patricia Ann (Bootsie) Ceurvels on September 17th, 1966. Together, they shared 53 years of marriage.

Kevin would sit and look out at the ocean, breathing the salt air and looking at the waves crashing against the seawall. On a cold winter night, you could find Kevin beside the fireplace stoking a magnificent fire, guarding his post in the beautiful living room of his home on Third Cliff. Kevin LOVED the ocean. He walked the beach (Rivermoor/The Spit) nearly every day in every season. He was a volunteer on the Certs Rescue Team in Scituate.

He loved working in his yard. Kevin was an avid gardener, growing vegetables that would win awards! He shared the fruits of his labor with the neighbors on Cliff Ave. He’d walk with zucchini, tomatoes, corn, etc. dropping them on porches while walking the cliff. He was always there to lend a hand, rototill a garden or just offer up his tools.

He loved fishing, clamming and was a hobbyist lobsterman enjoying weekends on his boat which he kept in Scituate Harbor. He welcomed anyone to join him on his boat for the day, as long as you could pull traps.

Kevin was a kind, thoughtful, quiet, loving husband, father, friend and neighbor. He made an indelible mark on the people who knew him and the cliff on which he lived. He touched the lives of every person he met in a unique way. Kevin was referred to by his neighbors as the “Mayor of Cliff Ave.” Third Cliff will never quite be the same.

We love you, Kevin Lake, and miss you dearly.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Lake of Scituate, his children, Kevin Lake Jr. of Melbourne Beach, FL. And Kristine Lake of Naples, FL., his grandchildren, Benjamin Lake of Melbourne, FL and Isabella Lake of Springfield, MA. Brother to, Barbara Macdonald of Hanover, Georgette (Muffin) Anzalone of Marshfield, Karen (Taffy) Donahue of Marshfield, Barry (Buzzy) Lake of Mashpee, the late, Phyllis Buchanan of Roslindale, Arthur Lake Jr. of Jamaica Plain, Patricia Lake of Marshfield, Eugene Lake of Norwood and Brian Lake of Jamaica Plain.

Services for Kevin including a funeral Mass will take place at a future date.
