John “Jack” P. Kasper, Jr. – 85, of Scituate, passed away on January 18, 2016. John is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Aldona (Pauliukaitis), loving children Paul and his wife Susan of Scituate, Stephen of Truckee, CA and John of Scituate, cherished grandfather of Chris, John, Matt, Kate, and Kira.
Jack spent 4 years in the Air Force from 1950-54, spending two years stationed in the Territory of Alaska. He graduated in 1956 with a degree in electrical engineering from WPI in Worcester, MA, where he was a member of Theta Kappa Phi fraternity and the Lithuanian Naturalization Club. Jack spent the next 26 years working for New England Telephone. After leaving NE Telephone, Jack spent a year in Cairo, Egypt as a telecommunications consultant for A. D. Little of Cambridge, MA. In retirement Jack loved to play golf and worked at Green Harbor Golf Club in Marshfield, MA, where his best memory was hitting a hole in one with witnesses there to see it.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, Jan. 25th from 4pm to 7pm at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, Scituate. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Jan. 26th at 10am in St. Anthony’s Church, 10 Summer St, Cohasset followed by burial in Cudworth Cemetery, Scituate.
