Scituate, MA – Joan Marie Mohorovic,79, a long-time resident of Scituate, died peacefully on Saturday, September 2, 2023 after a long battle with Alzeimer’s disease. Joan was the beloved wife of the late Jesse
Mohorovic,. devoted mother of Caroline Rees and Joe Mohorovic, daughter of Francis and Caroline Vroman. Joan was born and raised in New York City, as was her eventual husband
Jesse, but the couple made their life in Scituate, MA. They purchased a home in the early 1970s with a view of Museum Beach and the lighthouse where they raised their children. Joan occasionally worked outside the home, but her family was her vocation. She devoted her life to her husband and her children, providing a loving and nurturing home for her family. During the 1990’s, Jesse’s work eventually took them to Virginia and Florida, but the couple returned to Scituate each summer where her daughter Caroline raised her children with husband Loren.
Joan was impossibly joyous – quick to befriend a stranger or delight a young child. She Joan
enjoyed tennis and eventually took up golf, and made many friends on the courts and the links.
A devoted parishioner of St. Mary’s of the Nativity in Scituate, she was blessed with great faith that guided her through her life. For years, Joan volunteered at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, supporting patients and their families.
