Ida "Edie" C. Russo

RUSSO, Ida C. “Edie” (Santospirito), 93, of Scituate, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2016. She was the devoted wife of the late Vincent J. Russo, loving mother of Joseph Russo of Costa Mesa, CA, Janet Briggs and her husband John of Hilton Head Island, SC, Laura Sarver and her husband George of Sunnyvale, CA. Dear sister of Catherine Santospirito of West Roxbury, cherished grandmother of Cecelia, Jacquelyn, Jennifer, Stephen and David and great grandmother of Emily, Thomas, Brianna and Ida. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She worked for several years in Boston and enjoyed everything downtown had to offer. During her lifetime she loved the beach, her garden, attending the Boston Symphony Orchestra performances and any exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts. She enjoyed traveling but despite all of the beautiful places she experienced, nothing ever compared to the beauty she saw in Scituate.

Visiting hours will be on Monday, March 21st at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate, from 5PM to 8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 22nd in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent St., Scituate at 10AM followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Scituate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Scituate Etrusco Association 1 Common Street, Scituate, MA 02066.
