Howie "The Golfing Guru" Ellis, 68, of San Tan Valley, AZ, teed off for his final round on December 22, 2023, leaving a hole-in-one legacy behind. Born on February 3, 1955, in Los Angeles, CA, Howie was a swingin' sensation!
This dapper gentleman was not only a devoted husband to his lovely wife Beverly but also a loving father to his kids, Heather, Pandora, Craig, and Corey. Howie's brothers, Robb and Mike, were his partners in crime, and their wives, Shirl and Janel, added an extra touch of mischief to the mix.
Howie was a true golf aficionado, spending his days on the green and perfecting his swing. From a young age, he found his calling working at a golf course, and that's when he realized that golf was his "fore"-ever love. He transformed his passion into a successful career within the golf industry, leaving a lasting impact on the fairways and putting smiles on the faces of fellow golfers.
As "Poppy" to his eight adoring grandchildren, Niko, Mattea, Landon, Shea, Josh, Travis, Brayden, and Kameron, Howie taught them the art of swinging clubs and shared priceless moments of joy and laughter.
Howie's zest for life was contagious, and his departure leaves a void in our hearts. He was preceded in death by his father, Dick Ellis, his mother, Marie Ellis, and his brother, Steve Ellis. But we know they're having a heavenly tee time up above.
A visitation will take place on Thursday May 9, 2024 from 3-7pm at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. A funeral mass will be held on Friday May 10, 2024 at 10:00am at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate.
In lieu of flowers, Howie wanted us to remind everyone that if any of you owe him money, now is the time to pay up!
Let's raise our clubs and toast to Howie's remarkable journey, filled with birdies, eagles, and plenty of laughter. May his spirit forever inspire us to swing for the stars and embrace life's greens with gusto!
