Sullivan, Eleanor- Age 97, of Scituate, passed away on May 1, 2018 surrounded by her family. Born in Dorchester, she was a daughter to the late Joseph and Mary Lillian Delorey. She was the loving wife to the late Ralph Warren Sullivan. Beloved mother to Mark L. Sullivan, his wife Antoinette of Naples, FL, Gregory V. Sullivan, his wife Ellen of Hingham, Ma, and the late Paul D. Sullivan and Christopher R. Sullivan. Cherished grandmother to Aimee, Heather, Jonathan, Kathleen, Kristen, Cara, Lauren, Patrick, Jacqueline and Christopher. Eleanor was also a great grandmother to 12. She will be remembered by her sister Barbara Janiak, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Dorothy O’Neil, Marjorie Szum and Anne Buschini.
Eleanor graduated from St. Gregory’s High School in Dorchester and Burdett College. She served as the Treasurer of the Blackstone Gas Company from 1955 through 1986, and was a legal secretary for Malloy & Sullivan in Hingham until her retirement at age 90. She enjoyed singing, swimming, cooking, ice skating, and walking along the beaches in Scituate. She was a devoted fan of the Boston Bruins, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
A visitation will take place on Friday May 4, 2018 from 4-8pm at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday May 5, 2018, at 12 noon from St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Norwell VNA and Hospice.
