Mary Margaret Brown

Mary Margaret Patricia Coyne Brown of Scarsdale, NY passed away on July 9, 2024 in Summit, NJ. She was 95 years old. Mary was born on March 4, 1929 in Boston, MA to Thomas F. and Anne T. Coyne and grew up in New Rochelle, NY. Mary graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of White Plains (now Pace University) and worked as an Executive Secretary to the President of McKesson & Robbins, Inc. in New York City. Over the years, she volunteered on many committees and boards for the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and school, Iona Preparatory School and The Ursuline School. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for 56 years.

Mary was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph B. Brown and is survived by her children, Kevin T. Brown of Katonah, NY and Annemarie Brown Cahill of Summit, NJ, her son-in-law, Thomas Cahill, her daughter-in-law, Amy Brown, as well as six grandchildren – Garrett, Donovan, Kevin and Mary Kathleen Cahill and Kieran and Thomas Brown.

A visitation for Mary will be held Monday, July 15, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Home, 824 Scarsdale Ave, Scarsdale, NY 10583. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 8 Carman Rd, Scarsdale, NY 10583. A burial will occur Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM at Holy Mount Cemetery, Scarsdale, Scarsdale, NY 10583.
