        My name is Leon and I was Frank’s next door neighbor for 34 years, I would like to share my experience of knowing Frank. In 1988 ,my wife and I bought our first house directly across the street from his on White Rd.
I first met him when I was trying to take down an old rusted swing set in my backyard, left by the previous owners. He must have seen me struggling with the heavy swing set and without any hesitation he walked over, introduced himself , and began helping me. He was the type of person that enjoyed helping people. 
That day began a friendship which lasted 34 years. There is an old saying,”it’s a small world”. When my mother came to visit me at the new house , she saw the name DeFillipo and said “ I bet you he comes from Mount Vernon” and sure enough he did. As a matter of fact, my mother's brother Joe, had gone to school with Frank and Frank’s older brother, Tony, knew my father. As fate would have it, I was connected to Frank even before I happened to become his neighbor.
Frank and I became even closer when my father lived with me and then suddenly passed away in 2006. I always viewed Frank as a second father to me.

     Frank loved his:
Dunkin Donuts Coffee, Medium, Milk, No Sugar, 
2 Coffee Rolls
Junior Mints
Fig Newtons,
Italian Wedding Soup
Ball Park Franks
Vegetarian Beans
 and enjoyed watching Old Westerns, John Wayne, and watching Baseball and Football, which we often spoke about. I believe that Frank was a secret Boston Red Sox and Patriots Fan and I would joke with him about this, although he would never admit that to me, as I was a New York Yankees fan. 

Frank was an avid outdoorsman, had a trailer upstate, loved hunting, fishing, his beagle dogs and loved Horse Racing and going to the track. Frank loved the autumn time when the leaves would change colors.  (continued on part 2)

Frank was a War hero who fought at The Battle Of the Bulge , which was one of the deadliest and hardest fought battles in WW2. He was awarded 2 Battle Bronze Stars , and European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon. Frank had just recently started to open up to me about his time in the service.

 Frank loved his wife Mary, his son Louis, and Granddaughter Laura, who all predeceased him, and loved his daughter in law, Carol, and loved and adored his granddaughter Andrea, who gave him two beautiful twin boys,Jackson and Zayden, whom he loved very much. 
 
I am going to miss him more than anything. May God watch over him and all of his family who passed before him.  - Leon

I am so sorry to hear the passing of Frank, he was such a nice and kind man. When coming in to see Dr.Robert Fath, he always ask to see me to say hello to me and make sure  I was ok.  He had a long life and  Dr.Fath and Scarsdale medical group will miss seeing him. God Bless.
