On February 17, 2023 Anthony A. Molea passed away peacefully at his home of 55 years with his adoring wife, Camille, by his side. He was 92 years old. Anthony is now reunited with other members of the family in heaven. Anthony was a lifelong resident of New Rochelle having been born on July 23,1930 to Anthony and Marion (Vento) Molea. He lived a full, rewarding life, and his family is forever grateful to have had him with them for so long. Anthony’s family, particularly his grandchildren, were his pride and joy - never happier than when he was spending time with them - anywhere - but especially on their annual excursions to Montauk that he planned every year.
He proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War and was of the first generation in his family to attend higher education, graduating from Iona College and Fordham University School of Law. After graduating law school, Anthony worked at a law firm on Wall Street and served as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of New Rochelle. However, the vast majority of his career was spent as an Assistant District Attorney at the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office where he served proudly for over 40 years serving as Chief Assistant District Attorney to District Attorney Carl Vergari.
Anthony is survived by his wife of 61 years, Camille (Scalone) and his two children, Anthony (Lucia Perrotta) and Marion (Matthew Gildard) and four grandchildren, Marisa N. Molea, Anthony J. Molea Jr., Gianna C. Gildard and Andrew J. Gildard. He is also survived by his brother, the Honorable Richard A. Molea (Virginia Schwarz) and was predeceased by his sisters Anita Molea and Marietta (Molea) Benedetto (Thomas William).
Funeral arrangements will be handled by Edwin L. Bennett, Scarsdale, NY as follows: Wake - Wednesday, February 22nd from 4-8 pm; Funeral Mass - Thursday, February 23rd at 10:00 am at St. Pius X, Scarsdale where he was an active parishioner for over 55 years; followed by a Rite of Christian Burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne.
