Alessandra Greenstein

She is survived by her husband of over 53 years, Fredric, her son Eric, daughter Marina, grandsons Brady and Declan, and granddaughter Simone, daughter-in-law Danielle, son-in-law Ned, as well as her sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews both in the US and in Italy.

Alessandra was born on May 9, 1949, in the town of Dueville in Veneto, Italy. She was the youngest of five siblings, with older brothers Franco and Giancarlo and older sisters Agnese and Alessandrina. In high school she undertook the adventure of moving to Syracuse, NY with relatives and it was there that she met Fred. After they married in her hometown on November 15, 1969, they moved first to Queens and then to Eastchester, NY. Though she lived far, she stayed close with her family and regularly visited them in Italy, taking her husband and children with her.

Her first child, Eric, was born in 1977, followed by daughter, Marina, in 1983. After several years at home with her children, she reentered the workforce, eventually becoming VP, Head of Human Resources for Banco di Napoli and then Banca Nazionale del Lavoro in Manhattan. She retired just before the birth of her oldest grandchild and transitioned to happily spending her time with her three grandchildren as they grew.

Alessandra loved her family fiercely and she let them know it—often through food. Whether it was raisin toast lovingly packed in foil to share at the park, fresh homemade pasta and sauce, or a full Thanksgiving dinner with her famous onion soup, the food she made and offered was a testament to how much she cared for the people in her life.

A visitation for Alessandra will be held Friday, June 23, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Homes, 824 Scarsdale Ave, Scarsdale, NY 10583. A funeral service will occur Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Our Lady of Fatima, 5 Strathmore Road, Scarsdale, NY 10583. A graveside service will occur Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM at Greenwood Union Cemetery, 215 North Street, Rye, NY 10580.
