Christopher Millar.  Uncle Bolton's nephew. I met aunt Joyce about 50 years ago. Whenever I visited Canada with dad ,uncle Bolton's brother who passed away little over a year ago, we always stayed by them. It was always a Blessing to be there, aunt Joyce was a special person, she always gave of her time to serve and help and bless us as we enjoyed our visit from Barbados.  She was a very caring person and I am sure that all who met her enjoyed her presence. She was lent to us from the Lord, and we will miss her, she is with Jesus and we will soon see her again. May the Lord comfort all of us at this time, 

My condolences to the family.  I have so many great memories of Aunt Joyce throughout the years.  I remember traveling with Aunt Joyce and my Mom while we were all children in the back seat of the Cadillac exploring all over Ontario.   I also remember her and Tanya taking the Greyhound bus to Cleveland to meet Dre' when he was born. When we wanted to start our Cousins weekend, she made her house available for the first of our many weekends to come.  Always so caring and concerned but never shy to share her opinion, she will be missed.  

Extending sincere condolences from us in Barbados to all the family and sending our assurance that the support of family and friends will take them through this difficult time.

We will always remember with fondness our visits to 121 Lilian Drive, especially sharing  many jokes and laughs and the delicious meals and rum and coke

Heartfelt condolences to Tanya and extended family members on the loss of your loved one, Joyce.  I met Joyce  at Tanya's and Ravi's wedding where Tanya joined our family and became cousins to me and my siblings.  Joyce was such a warm and friendly  person  who made you feel very welcome. My mom would speak  fondly of her  and recalled that whenever she visited Canada,  she would call up Joyce and enjoyed going to lunch with her.  I can empathize with the emotions that you all are feeling as I lost my mom    over a year ago. My God comfort and strengthen you during this difficult period and may cherished memories always warm your hearts.  God bless you all.May her soul RIP..🙏💜💛

 Jim and I were fortunate to live next door to Joyce and Bolton many years ago. Joyce had a heart of gold and a kind and caring neighbour. We had many a good chat over the fence or on the patio on a summer's evening. She was a lady the would put one at ease as soon as you met her and her endless kindness will not be forgotten. 
May you rest in peace my friend.

 

I am so glad that Joyce thought about getting  her nieces and her mother's nieces together and hosted our first Girl Cousins Weekend in Toronto over 25 years ago!  We have been meeting on Remembrance Day /Veteran's Day Weekend ever since until the Pandemic.  We look forward to beginning that tradition again this year.  I shall miss our 1/2 hour to an hour phone calls over the years and even did  Zoom Calls during the Pandemic.  Wonderful memories will be in my heart to provide comfort in the years to come until we meet again in Heaven.

I always remember Joyce at family gatherings eagerly asking about the kids and work. She was always quick to laugh at funny stories and had a  lovely way of being in on a joke. Her kind smile and tongue in cheek sly sense of humor always delighted me. We will miss her and our love and thoughts are with her immediate family.

Joyce always found time to provide an empathetic ear to anyone who needed to be heard. She had a heart as wide as an ocean and would give wise and valuable advice and guidance whenever it was appropriate or called upon. Time would prove that more often than not her common sense, words, wisdom and ways were right. I will miss her greatly but her memory will be a blessing. Remember the African proverb, Say not in grief she is no more, but live in thankfulness that she was.
