It is with great sadness that James Norrie Moffat born August 28, 1929 passed away on February 26, 2021. He passed away at home where he wanted to be! In his long life he was a husband to Marion, brother to Jean (Ken) a father to Sheila (Milos) and Keith (Sandra). He was also a grandad to Olivia and Seth. And a cherished friend to many. He emigrated to Canada in 1954 with his bride for a better life. He was immediately offered a position at Heintzman Pianos as a plant manager. Where he worked for 25yrs. After leaving Heintzman's he opened his own shop where he worked until he retired. His passion for the piano lasted for all of his days. He could build practically anything you asked and was happy to do it for you. His workshop was his favorite place. He took to cooking later in life and was quite talented at this as well. He would always share fasinating stories of his past. He assisted in bringing many family members to Canada for a better life. He was also a mentor to many people in the Piano world getting them started on their own career path. He was invited to China twice as a special consultant to oversee the Heintzman plant in Bejing. He was a bit of a celebrity there. He can always be remembered for his love to go out for meals with family and friends. He had a great sense of humour mostly at others expense but funny none the less. Some funny memories would be that there was never a car trip that we didn't get lost and he would never ask for directions. Obviously long before google maps. And for all the film and video he took over the years you could always count on a blank or blurry photo and often videos of the ceiling or roof of the car.
He is finally back together with our mom as he wasn't the same without her.
Love and miss you Sheila & Keith ❤
