Giovanni Racioppo

Giovanni Racioppo passed away Thursday Morning September 28th, 2023 at the age of 92. Giovanni lived a full life loving all and leaving a legacy of joy and happiness in all that he touched. He always had a ready smile, a kind heart and dearly loved his two sons, two daughters-in-law, six grandchildren and their spouses and nine great-grandchildren. He was an example of courage, faith, hope, fortitude, wisdom and charity. He left Italy, his birth place, for a strange land, with only $16 in his pocket. He worked hard for a few years preparing the way for his beloved bride Rosa to follow. Together they worked hard for their children and to help Rosa’s family, his own family and many others from his home town, to come here for a new start. In doing so he gave of himself freely and expected nothing in return. No matter how he was feeling, he always found his greatest joy being with all of his family. His beloved wife Rosa, went ahead of him nine years ago, which he longed to see, and is now with her. Your family loves you and will miss you and look forward to seeing you again! Viewing will be between 8:15am and 9:15am, Wednesday Oct. 4th, 2023 at Paul O’Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Avenue East, Scarborough. Funeral Mass will be at 10am Wednesday Oct. 4th, 2023 at Annunciation Parish, 3 Combermere Drive, North York. Entombment to follow at Highland Memory Gardens, 33 Memory Gardens Lane, Toronto.
