George Grace died peacefully at Trillium Mississauga after a short illness, at the age of 96. George was predeceased by his wife Betty in 2020.
George is survived by nieces and nephews Miles Thompson (Linda), Judy Green, David Grace (Chris Long), Barbara Keaveney (Brian), Marjorie Appleton (Ted), Patricia Arges (Michael), Tim Grace (Deirdre), Allen Armstrong, and their families.
George was born in Toronto and left school in 1944 at age 18 to join the army. After serving in the army during WWII, George returned to school to complete his architectural training. Following his graduation he spent the next 10 years with several architectural firms working mostly on drawings for churches. He joined Bell Canada in Toronto in 1956 and spent the rest of his working career at Bell designing buildings for them.
George was devoted to his wife Betty, and particularly enjoyed spending time with her golfing, travelling, sailing on Lake Ontario and at their cottage on Musselman’s Lake.
Many thanks to the staff at Chartwell Wenleigh for their care and attention in George’s final years.
A private burial for family only has taken place at Pine Hills Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a future date at The Church of St. Jude (Wexford), 10 Howarth Avenue, Toronto.
