He was born in Ludowici, and grew up in Savannah. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Milton Moore and Effie Mae Dukes Moore, and a brother, Herbert Moore.
He started his career in the Grocery Business at the Bargain Corner , and then moved to the M & M Grocery Store. He then moved to Jacksonville, Fla, to manage Elliott’s Drug Store, and he then moved to Hilton Head Island, S.C., to manage Nash Drug Company. He then moved to Hinesville, Ga., to open Harold’s Quick Stop, and then Moore’s Market. He managed the American Legion Post # 168 in Hinesville, Ga, from there he moved to Walthourville, Ga to open Allen’s Meat Market, and then to Allenhurst, Ga to open Allen’s Little Market.
He is survived by a son, Ronny Allen Moore (Jessica) of Ellabell, Ga; 2 daughters, Teresa Elaine Guest of Riceboro, Ga. Charlene Marie Calhoun of Richmond Hill, Ga., 2 brothers, Earl Moore (Ozella) of Tybee Island, Ga; and Jimmy Moore (Stella) of Savannah, Ga., 6 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation: 2 – 5 p.m. Sunday at Fairhaven Funeral Home – Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
Funeral Services: 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with Rev. Clint Sullens, officiating.
Interment: will be in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
