MCINTYRE, Robert "Bob" - 67, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, passed away peacefully with his children by his side on Monday, May 8, 2023, at the Sault Area Hospital after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born on Wednesday, June 15, 1955, Bob was the son of Dorothy and the late Robert McIntyre. Bob is survived by his mother, his daughter Krista (Ryan), his son Bob (Lyndsay), his sisters Vickie Sammon (Pat) and Jackie King (Harv), his grandchildren Cooper, Lily, and Katelyn, his special aunt, Pat Stratichuk (late Stan) and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded by his sister, Theresa Meincke.
Bob worked his whole career as a steelworker at Algoma Steel / Tube Mill. Outside of work, Bob was an avid sports fan and poker player. He was a member of the Sault Steelers 1980 championship football team, which he was very proud of.
Bob was a family-oriented man who loved his children and grandchildren dearly. He will be remembered as a man of few words but a bright smile, for his love for his family, and his passion for poker and all things sports, especially the Detroit Red Wings.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522). A private family interment and celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Bob's name to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation, Tracy's Dream, or the Canadian Cancer Society. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the McIntyre family.
Rest in peace, Dad/Bob/Rob.
We love and miss you dearly!
