LAUZON, Margaret Eileen (nee Robinson) - Peacefully at the F.J. Davey Home on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at the age of 95. She was greeted by her late husband, Émile Lauzon, to dance cheek to cheek on what would have been their 70th wedding anniversary. Loving mother of George (Hilary), Jean Paul (Ellenjane), Patrick (Paula), Michael (Andrea), Peggy Running (Raymond) and Susie Lauzon. Cherished Mémère of Katherine, Carolyn, Jean Michel, Ryan, Emily, Elizabeth, Andrew, Kathleen, Matthew, Spencer, Jordan, Stephen, Lauren, Levi and Christina. Pictures of her 23 great-grandchildren decorated her room and brought her great joy daily. Daughter of the late Ellwood and Mima Robinson. Sister of the late George Robinson. Daughter-in-law of the late Georges and Aurore Lauzon.
As the last member of the original Lauzon clan, she will be greeted at the Rummoli table by Émile’s brothers and sisters who adopted her into the fold of their large and loving French-Canadian family. Margaret will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and extended family.
A true feminist, she used a booster seat at the age of 15 in order to drive a dump truck for her father's company, Ellwood Robinson Limited. She moved on to own her own small trucking company, followed by a restaurant, which fed the construction workers and executives at the inception of Mannesmann Tube. She gave it all up to raise her six children, playing hockey mom, taxi, bowling coach, dance mom, as well as PTA volunteer where this anglophone sat during a French meeting with friends and sisters-in-law whispering translations into her ear. Her dedication to family and community was unwavering.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Fritz and the staff of the F. J. Davey Home for their compassion and commitment to Margaret’s well being, and for embracing her as a member of their community while she was under their care.
Friends may visit the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street E. 705-759-2522) on Monday, November 13, 2023 from 11 am until time of funeral service in the chapel at 1 pm.
