DUCHARME, Lawrence Emery (Larry) – It is with deep regret we announce the death of our father Larry Ducharme on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the Sault Area Hospital at the age of 69. Larry was born on April 28, 1945 in Zurich, Ontario, moved to Northern Ontario to work in the bank at age of 19. Son of late Urban and Margaret Ducharme (nee McKenzie). Loving father to Renee Metzner (late Derrick), sons Kevin, Brian (Denise) all of Sault Ste. Marie. Proud Grandpa to Jolie and Rebbeca Metzner, Hailey and Kiera Ducharme. Cherished brother of Patricia Keffer (Larry) of Bluevale, ON, Sharon Berry (Gord) of Stratford, ON, Barbara Laidlaw (Jerry) of Atwood, ON, Oscar Ducharme (Dorothea) of Brussels, ON, Leslie Ducharme (Frieda) of Edmonton, AB, Darwin Ducharme (Bev) of Brussels, ON and predeceased by the late Dennis and Darlene Ducharme. Larry will be dearly missed by best friend and fiancé Marilyn Davis. He was a wonderful Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Larry retired from Algoma Steel were he worked for 33 years. He also worked 8.5 years for the Bank of Montreal having worked in several branches in Ontario. Larry was a member for 37 years with the Loyal Order of Moose having served 4 terms as President in the local lodge. He was elected to the Ontario Moose Association where he served 5 years on the Executive including “President” for Ontario in 2003. Larry received the highest Degree of the Order the “Pilgrim Degree of Merit” in 1999 in Illinois for his outstanding achievements. He served on the Board of Directors – Moose Income Housing for 18 years including 4 terms as President. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Thursday, August 7, 204 from 6 – 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 10 am at Precious Blood Cathedral with Rev. Father Currie officiating. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Hemochromatosis Society, Sault Moose Lodge Family Centre No. 535 would be appreciated.
