PETERS, John Edward “Jack” – It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our dear husband and father Jack at the Sault Area Hospital on Monday, January 29, 2018 with the loving arms of his family around him. Cherished husband of Ruth his beloved companion for the past 70 years. Mom your love, devotion and strength was evident to all as you cared for Dad at home until the time of his passing providing him with the dignity he so deserved. Mourning the loss are his children, Albert Peters (Nancy), Kenneth Peters (Luan), Susan Marcinkowski and Jack Peters (Marisa). Dad you were always there to offer words of wisdom and encouragement or help us with any dilemma we faced. Family was so important to you and that has kept us all very close. Proud Grampa of Lauren Bryce (Steve), Nick Peters, Erika Peters, Hilary Peters, Kyle Marcinkowski and Jamie Peters. Most special Great Grampa of newly born Cameron Jack Bryce. Predeceased by his parents Albert and Gladys Peters and sisters Phyllis and Doreen. Brother-in-law of Edna Nisbett. Uncle of Sam, Dave and Dan Butkovich, Donalma Shoust, Jack Nisbett and Diana Caputo. Dave your visits meant so much to Dad, especially at the end. Jack retired from Algoma Steel after 35 years as an electrician and started his second career in the coffee business as an owner/operator of Second Cup and later Roomers Café in the Station Mall where he made many friends along the way. Upon his retirement he still enjoyed meeting his coffee buddies every day. We thank Paula Greco and Katie at the Cancer Clinic as well as Jenn from ParaMed for trying to get Dad the help he needed. Special thanks to the Fire Department, Paramedics and Ambulance Attendants for their quick action and attendance at the house that morning and to Christine in Emergency for the compassion extended to us during Dad’s passing. Family and friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East 705-759-2522) on Sunday, February 4, 2018 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Memorial service to follow in the chapel at 1 pm. Mr. Len Monico officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to ARCH or Tracey’s Dream would be appreciated by the family.
