HARVEY, George Thomas - Peacefully, surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Collegiate Heights in his 95th year. Beloved husband of the late Roberta 'Robin'. Loving father of Edward 'Ted' (Ilse), Connie Harvey (Avtar Wasson), Susan Rabb (Harold) and Paul. Proud grandfather of Erich Harvey (Sarah), Roland Harvey, late Devika Wasson, Rajinder Wasson (Annika), Melissa Rabb-Simoes (Aaron), Andrew and Jeremy Rabb, Paul Andrew Harvey, Lauralee Brand (Eric), and Laryssa Harvey. Great grandfather of Harper, Oliver, Riley, Grady and Kylee. Dear brother of John (late Thora) and Mary Lund (Kenneth). Brother in law to Geoffrey Janes. George was a research scientist at Great Lakes Forestry Centre and devoted 35 years to the study of the Spruce Budworm. He was active for many years at Central United Church, and several times Chair of Algoma Presbytery and President of London Conference in 1991. He was actively involved in Scouting in a variety of roles including District Commissioner and Assistant Provincial Commissioner. He was a charter member of the Sault Naturalists Club and supported the development of the Voyageur Trail. His grandchildren remember him for The Bug Barn, hikes to High Tops, visits to Lake Superior, and swims at camp, sharing his love for the natural world.

A private funeral service will take place. Rev. Laurie Milito officiating.
