CRAIG, Elaine - July 10, 1944 - October 1, 2016 - After a life well lived Elaine passed away at ARCH on Saturday, October 1st, 2016. Our family is devastated at the loss of a precious wife, mother and grandmother. Elaine is survived by her husband and best friend Fraser, and her loving daughters Lisa (Bruce), and Allyson. Elaine was predeceased by her daughter Cathy (Trevor) in 2008. Elaine treasured her six grandchildren, Michael, Daniel, Nicholas, Danica, Anderson and Lorelai. She also leaves her son-in-law Trevor (Chantalle). Elaine is survived by her brother David (Nicole), brothers-in-law, Spencer (Laverne), Douglas (Lorri), and sister-in-law Jo-Anne (Chris). Elaine was a very special and loving friend to Nancy Hogarth (Peter). Elaine will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Elaine was a 1966 graduate of the Toronto East General Hospital, School of Nursing. Her insight and caring nature served her well in her nursing career, and often in her retirement, Elaine would meet people in the community who would say to her “Thank you for looking after our family member” when that person was so very ill. Elaine bore her illness with outstanding courage, working tirelessly in support groups to assist other women facing the diagnosis of breast cancer. Elaine leaves many good friends through Willowgrove Church, her retiree groups, scrabble club and the royal wannabes. She loved to travel and she and Fraser have many happy memories of time spent in England, Portugal and Newfoundland. Elaine was a beautiful person, a wonderful wife and mother, a very capable lady and a good friend. Elaine will be forever missed. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 3 pm to 5 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral service to be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 11 am at Willowgrove United Church. Rev. Dr. David Zub officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.
