Edward "Ed" Hawdon

HAWDON, Edward “Ed” – Peacefully surrounded by family, was received in the arms of our Lord and Saviour in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Merle (nee Kernaghan) for 67 years. Loving father of Linda and Bryon Hall, Dennis and Marie Hawdon, Bruce and Irene Hawdon, Patricia and Will Fairfield, Bill and Michelle Hawdon and Tim and Sue Hawdon. Cherished Poppa of 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Marion Hyndman (John) and Julia McFadden (late James). Predeceased by sisters and brothers Margaret Bjornaa (late Andrew), Ann Young (late Bill), Reginald Hawdon (late Bessie), Rose Gilbertson (late Bernt), Dorothy Campbell (late Frank), Carl Hawdon (late Olive, late Roseanne) and Maureen McIntyre (late Scotty). Brother-in-law of Kay Roberts (Ed) (late Jack Kent) and Dan Kernaghan (Ruth). Predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law’s Helena Knutsen (late John), Clifford Kernaghan, Alison Ward (late George) and Phyllis Rousseau (late Allan). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Free Methodist Church, St. Joseph Island on Friday, May 22, 2015 from 6 – 9 pm. Funeral service from the church on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 11 a.m. Pastor Adrian Collins officiating. Ed’s favourite charities were SAH Cancer Clinic, Heart & Stroke Foundation and the St. Joseph Island Free Methodist Church. Donations in dad’s memory would be greatly appreciated.
