HARDER (nee Patkau): Tina; of Saskatoon passed away March 18, 2015 at the age of 91. She was born June 27, 1923 in Rezikne, Lithuania while the family was emigrating from the Ukraine to Canada. Tina grew up on a family farm in the Hanley area. She married Nick Harder in 1943. They farmed in the Dundurn district for 40 years. Together they raised five children. In 1983, they left the farm moving into a new house in Saskatoon. Nick passed away in 1993 after almost 50 years of marriage. After several years Tina moved into a condo at Circle Drive Place where she resided until her passing. Tina enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling and keeping in touch with her family. She was very involved in her church and community. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Village Green Thrift Store for more than 30 years. She was a great hostess. Everyone was invited to share food at her table. Tina will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends. Tina is survived by five children: Edgar (Ruby) of Denholm, Alice (Richard) Krahn of rural Saskatoon, Harry (Kathe) of Clavet, Elma (Muzaffar Iqbal) of Edmonton, and Carl (Jaime) of Dundurn; her adopted family Habtemariam and Zewdi Asfaha of Calgary; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers Henry (Mary), Corny (Hilda), and Erwin (Helen); sister Esther; brother-in-law Delmar (Betty) Rempel; and sister-in-law Elfrieda Harder all of Saskatoon; plus numerous nieces & nephews. Tina was predeceased by husband Nick; parents Kornelius & Katharina (nee Schellenberg) Patkau; stepmother Katharina (nee Harder/Warkentin); sisters Frieda Peters, Alice Rempel; and daughter-in-law Carol; Nick’s sister Neta Koop; and brothers Gerhard Harder and Henry Harder.
